    Fire ban in effect in Town of Georgina

    Effective immediately and until further notice, a fire ban on all outdoor and open-air burning is in effect for the Town of Georgina. Burning for any purpose including recreational fires is not allowed at this time. 

    This ban has been issued for the protection of property and public safety and is being implemented by Fire Chiefs region wide. The Town/Georgina Fire and Rescue Services will not be issuing open-air burn permits or agricultural burn permits until further notice.

    Watershed Conditions Statement - water safety

    The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that northern areas of the watershed are forecast to receive up to 50mm of precipitation beginning this afternoon and continuing through the evening.

    At 7:04 P.M. Edt, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
    This line of severe thunderstorms is located from keldon to wyevale, moving East at 70 km/h.

    The Town is developing the 2026 budget and needs your feedback. Georgina passes a budget every year to determine how funds will be invested into the community. Tax dollars go towards a variety of programs and services that families rely on every day – from road work and water and wastewater improvements to snow clearing and recreation programs.
